Support the families of Sandy Hook. Families who have gone through the unimaginable; having their children shot at school.
My autism fight is my daily fight for freedom and justice for all as I try to speak for my son and maybe others who cannot speak for themselves.
Children, our most vulnerable population rely on us to keep them safe and we are failing them on multiple levels, including keeping our children safe in school. The right to bear arms and the right each of us has to be safe, have been in a bitter battle for years, because of politics not common sense.
I don't know a single person who does not think schools should be safe havens for our children, yet we can't get laws in place to protect them.
This is not stopping the families of Sandy Hook Elementary school where children were killed in 2012. They have formed a non-profit called Sandy Hook Promise. Their mission is to create a culture engaged in preventing shootings, violence, and other harmful acts in schools. Sandy Hook Promise is a moderate, above-the-politics organization that supports sensible program and policy solutions that address the “human side” of gun violence by preventing individuals from ever getting to the point of picking up a firearm to hurt themselves or others. Our words, actions, and impact nationwide are intended to honor all victims of gun violence by turning our tragedy into a moment of transformation.
